Elite Destination Florida is dedicated to the community. After every event program we give back extra supplies to local charities. Currently our efforts have brought us to work with the Sunshine Foundation.

Sunshine-Foundations-Dream-Village

The Sunshine Foundation was founded in 1976 by Police Officer Bill Sample. After working at a hospital as a police officer on protective duty, he saw firsthand the financial and emotional struggles that the families endured paying for medical treatments, therapies, and basic necessities. Today, the Sunshine Foundation has helped to create laughter, smiles, and a lifetime of memories in over 36,000 children nationwide. Because the Sunshine Foundation cares so much for these kids, over 83% of all donations are allocated to their children’s programs, earning the distinction of being the only A rated wish granting charity in the United States from the website www.charitywatch.org. In 1989, the Sunshine Foundation built the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village for the kids who had dreams to visit Central Florida and the theme parks in the area. This 22-acre resort is nestled in a fairy-take setting that has welcomed over 20,000 special children since its opening.

Soon the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village will be expanding. A Therapeutic Riding Center, a fishing pond, and four more cottages are just some of the plans for this expansion. Elite Destination is one of the many sponsors to this foundation. Elite’s team members have visited the Dream Village and met with Sunshine Foundation’s staff to learn more about the foundation. We also were privileged to take a tour of the property and see inside the magical cottages with their intricate designs and beautiful artwork. We believe in answering the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged, and abused children whose families are unable to fulfill their requests due to the financial strain the child’s illness may cause. Every child has a dream and we believe even children in need should have their wish come true.
